I was really annoyed to discover that pay pal is not accessible. I have a Visa card, and that is the only way I can pay online to get a premium membership for this site, I could pay by phone or money order, but none of these methods are ideal for me, and I don't feel comfortable doing it like that. The thing that is inaccessible in pay pal is the word varification, there is no audio like in hotmail, for example, so therefore how am I supposed to pay? I don't see why I should get people to help me with something like that, particularly as I never have problems paying for things on other internet sites, so, could something be done about this? I don't see why I should be denied the opportunity of paying in the way that's most convenient for me.
has paypal changed its signup in the sense that there is no longer an audio link? There used to be

Just to inform everybody, with the help of another member of the zone, I've discovered that there is no audio word varification available for pay pal for British citizens But there is for other countries such as the USA. As I'm British that's why the problem occurred.

Tazz, yes there is an audio link. I was considering purchasing a premiu membership the other day & I even downloaded the audio file.

After almos two months this topick was posted and paypal is still inaccesible.
I would be a premium member by now if paypal didn't have that verification text.
I only used paypal once to buy a game but i had to ask somebody to tell me the verification text to write it but i don't like doing that. I like doing my internet shopping indipendently.
I think the admins or comunity leaders should write topaypal and tell them about this problem because only if they fix that zone will get more premium members so zone will have more money to develop the site.

Either do something about Paypal being inaccessible or let us pay by credit card online.
well, there are other alternate payment methods. On the payment page, we clearly state that you can pay by phone, using a credit card, and we do provide a phone number. In the meantime, I'll see if the admins can do anything else about alternate online payment methods. In the meantime, the phone number is available to pay my credit card...
Credit card online is coming. Just making sure the security aspect of it is all working, since we wouldn't want numbers to be stolen, etc.
The credit card online thing will solve the problem for the American users but some users abroad might have still problems like me because i have got a bank accound in the UK and my card type is swich.
I can use it in UK websites but not in any American. Paypal supports my card type because according to the country i choose it gives me a list with the cards available in this particular country but the accessibility issue doesn't let us use it.
So i don't know if something similar could be done in here when we can do the credit card online.

I don't think I can do that without a lot of hassle or cost. Not really sure though. Right now, I can take Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.
paypal now have a UK based section. find their website at:
www.paypal.co.uk
their customer services number is on that site too. try signing up using that address, and see where you get. if you still have trouble, contact them.
I am glad to tell you that paypal is accesible again. The verification text can be found as an audio. Just when it says type the characters you see in the box click on help and there it says you may also listen to the audio or something.
